How does it work?
Voodoo BugDust includes diatomaceous earth, or DE, a fine white powder that resembles flour, but is actually the fossilized remains of microscopic diatoms, tiny plants that grew in ancient oceans and lakes in prehistoric times. These tiny granules have extremely sharp edges, which act like microscopic needles to penetrate the hard shells of any insect that comes in contact with it, causing the insect, like a voodoo doll stuck full of pins, to dehydrate and die within a matter of hours.
Since the killing mechanism is physical, not chemical, bugs cannot build up any resistance. It is completely nontoxic to humans or pets. Why? Put simply, we are too large and our cell walls are too thick to be affected.

NOT ALL DIATOMACEOUS EARTH IS THE SAME; there are variations in the structure of the product, depending on where it was mined, and the sort of diatoms it contains, whether they are from fresh or salt water sources, how finely it was milled or ground, and whether or not the product has been heat-treated. Diatomaceous earth from some suppliers has been mixed with pesticides, making it unsafe for certain uses. Voodoo BugDust uses only 100% food grade diatomaceous earth from fresh water diatoms, the purest and most uniform DE available. It is pure white, organic, nontoxic, and contains no additional pesticides. Our diatomaceous earth has been approved by both the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute), and is considered safe as a food additive.
